Property Owners enjoy visit to the community
Barbara and Dick Sherman, Property Owners from Florida, joined us this past weekend for a visit to the Peninsula and quality leisure time on the Golden Isles. Altough the climate, was unseasonably cooler then normal, the Shermans had a great time exploring historic Brunswick and the beaches on Saint Simons. Below is an interview with The Shermans:
How did you come to discover The Peninsula?
We have been searching for property all over the country for several years. We looked out West in Arizona and New Mexico, as well as on the East coast in South Carolina and North Florida. We saw an advertisement in the local Florida newspaper and decided to visit the Georgia Coast.
What was your impression of the Georgia Coast and Golden Isles area?
We fell in love with the Georgia coast! As Florida residents, we can really appreciate the lack of congestion and natural beauty of the area. Also, we liked that the area was in a Hurricane Free Zone. More than anything else, we really loved the people. Everyone was so friendly and laid-back; we came away with a great appreciation for Southern Hospitality.
What prompted your decision to purchase at The Peninsula?
We really felt good about the community. We liked the fact that the property was close to Savannah and Jacksonville, as well as Saint Simons and Jekyll Island. But we also like that fact the property was not in a congested area. We felt it was a good balance of relaxation and convenience.
You recently visited the community; tell us about your experience?
We had a great time! We stayed on Saint Simons Island and got to really enjoy the area. We were extremely impressed with the progress within the community. When we first visited, there was only a Master Plan. Now we got to see the roads, the parks, and the huge lakes in place. We are excited about the possibility of living at The Peninsula in the near future.
What are your future plans for moving to the area?
Well, we first need to think about our pet Weinmaraners, Buddy and Duchess. Our home needs to be comfortable for the entire family. We want an open floor plan with outdoor living space and views to the large lake in the front and the beautiful preserve in the back. We plan on taking it easy and doing some volunteer work in the area.
