Developer Story
Clay grew up in Liberty County on one of the few true low country river plantations on the Georgia Coast. The vision for Peninsula spawned from what he experienced as a boy – living on and inviting others to share the experience of coastal living. He saw Peninsula as having many of the same indigenous features of his boyhood home – a rich history, miles of coastal marshes, rivers and creeks, giant oaks, coastal palms and cedars, gentle ocean breezes, fresh water lagoons, ponds, and lakes, winding animal made paths and trails, open flowing meadows and fields, and spectacular sunrises and sunsets – a rural plantation setting in a coastal environment.
Clay feels that most who visit Peninsula will connect to its extraordinary natural beauty – tantalizing and enticing visitors to a deeper more intimate level of interest. Knowing more about this true peninsula of land is to simply ‘experience’ what Peninsula has to offer. The ‘experiential’ connect – a bottle of wine at sunset, boating, fishing, shrimping, shell fish gathering, visiting nearby beaches, barrier islands, and seafood restaurants is without equal in our coastal area.
The Peninsula experience is indeed a recreational arena for all ages, yet we would be amiss if we didn’t mention another aspect of its character – the sound! If you have never heard a coastal breeze rattle a palm, or gently whisper through a moss draped oak, or heard the settling of marsh hens at the end of a long day, then you are in for a rare treat.
Peninsula has a sound, and its quiet and natural setting reflects an audible peace seldom heard. We invite you to the sights, sounds, and experiences that Clay grew up with. Visit The Peninsula at Golden Isles.
